Happy Halloween

Nathan decided to dress up as Handy Manny this Halloween.
The two felt pieces flipped down on his belt are the tools.
He is quite the fan of Turner, Filepe, Rusty, Dusty, Stretch, Pat, Squeeze & Flicker.
John Tyler was supposed to be Winnie the Pooh, but the weather was too warm.
He dressed as a ghost instead and had a bib that named him "official candy taster."
We trick-or-treated with Shelley & Dave.

Great Aunt Patti had a special treat for both boys as well.

Nathan loved getting to feed the fish.

He thanked Great Aunt Patti with a fist bump.

Great Uncle Mike & Great Aunt Dana hosted us for trick-or-treating as well.
Nathan wanted to dress up just like Joseph as "Cam Newton."
Josh no longer trusts me to take him out of the house unsupervised. :)
Nathan loved getting to see Joseph & Anna.

John Tyler gave Great Aunt Dana and Anna sweet smiles and kisses.

Nathan practiced his "trick-or-treat" in the car, but never actually got it out of his mouth under pressure.

He got the hang of this thing pretty quickly.
We thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with our friends Jackie & Tom and see sweet baby Caroline. She dressed as shrimp sushi! What a creative and precious costume!

Mrs. Jackie and Mr. Tom had special Halloween treats for the boys.

I think the Moms were more excited about the visit than Caroline & John Tyler.
We had a great time!
Also, a special thanks to Mrs. Suzanne, Mr. Mark & Andrew for hosting Nathan for a trick-or-treat. Nathan loves visiting with Andrew and he truly enjoyed his second Halloween.
That treat bag has lasted us for 3 weeks! :)

tail gating

We are continuing a tradition the Ransome family started in 1988 by tail gating before Alabama home games. We are so blessed to be able to share this tradition with our boys.

Nathan was looking forward to seeing Bryant-Denny stadium for the first time.

We grabbed a quick Hamiter family photo when we arrived at the Walk of Champions.

The boys...

Josh was beaming with pride as he walked with Nathan.

We decided to take Nathan to the quad.

He talked us into letting him get into one of the bouncy houses. He promptly screamed for Mommy to get him OUT!

Maybe next year...

Of course, Nathan MUST get a few minutes playing in Granddad's tool box.

I think he's getting geared up for the game!

Nathan loved sitting back and relaxing at the tail gate.

Enjoying a few minutes of the Auburn game.

He's learning quickly!

1/2

John Tyler is six months old! We can hardly believe how quickly the time has passed.
He is an incredible blessing to our family and we are so grateful for him.
He's beginning to get more verbal and loves spending time with his brother.
He weighs in at 20 lbs. 2.5 oz. and measures 28 in. in length.

lounging

Nothing like Saturday morning cartoons in my parents bed.

Jim 'n Nicks

One of our favorite places to eat as a family is Jim 'n Nicks. We got to enjoy a wonderful meal with Granddad and Grandmother before the Arkansas game.
What a treat!

grape stomp

Nana & Aunt Bonnie took Nathan to Morgan Creek Winery for a grape stomp.

They enjoyed one of the first few weekends of fall and Nathan saw his first fall pumpkin.

Apparently pumpkins make good seats...

rolling over

John Tyler has become a pro at rolling over. Here is one of his first attempts. He is always so proud of himself once he makes the flip. He's started scooting around on his back. It won't be long before we're chasing two little boys around the house!

Labor Day

After beginning our Labor Day weekend with a family trip to the Birmingham zoo, we headed southeast to Lake Martin for our last lake weekend of the summer. Thankfully we were joined by lots of family and friends.

Uncle Mike, Aunt Dana, Anna & Joseph joined us after a weekend of Auburn football.
We loved getting to play with our cousins! They are so cool!

Great Aunt Kathy and Nana had fun recreating a photo they took just over 20 years ago with my cousin Kyle and Uncle Tyler. Now they have their grandsons, Landon and John Tyler.
What a handsome pair!

Landon's Mommy, Caroline, and Great Grandma enjoyed visiting and sharing wonderful food.

Nathan enjoyed playing in the back of Granddaddy's "old" truck. There are mountains of treasure in that old tool box.

As always, we look forward to getting in some wonderful quality time with Aunt Bonnie. She enjoyed skiing and swimming with Nathan.
It was a great way to bid summer farewell!

Birmingham Zoo

The Ransome family spent an afternoon at the Birmingham Zoo!

Nathan came prepared to beat the heat.

Mommy and Nathan enjoyed a carosel ride.

Nathan talked all morning about seeing the giraffes and when we walked over to their exhibit, they weren't there. We began to get a bit nervous that we may have missed them, but within a few moments they came strolling over to us as if they knew Nathan was waiting.

Next we saw the zebras and we must have looked funny because one laughed out loud at us!

Nathan love seeing the gorillas.

John Tyler had fun playing with a lion!

This tortise was very friendly and walked over to say hello.

We had a great day together making memories as a family.
